Is post processor training available for your CAM system? Good post processors can add a new dimension of flexibility and functionality to your CNC manufacturing systems. Taking advantage of this, however, requires an understanding of how the post processor works. Find out what post processor training a prospective CAM supplier has to offer.
Every CAM package has a post processor. It’s purpose is to allow the CAM to work for more than one g-code dialect. Post Processors don’t convert g-code from one dialect to the next. Instead they use an intermediate format that captures the CNC machine’s movements.
Re: How can I write my own post processor code? vedadave, here is a link to our Autodesk CAM GitHub site; specifically, the Documentation page. Both the site and the documentation are a work-in-progress, but you may find the Autodesk Post Processor Manual useful.
A post processor is software that translates CAD or CAM data to specific commands your CNC cutting machine can understand. Whatever CAD or CAM system you use, it has a certain point where it produces generic output called a “CL-file.”.
These are the current Post Processors, along with their file names and default file extensions, supported within our software. Bear in mind that some Post Processors can be used across multiple machines, such as the D6 Post, which can be used across a range of Creonic based controllers such as Koike Hypertherm Edge Lockformer Vulcan TechServ Controllers File Name Post Processor Default File.
A CNC post processor is software that converts toolpaths created in a CAM system into NC programs that can be read by a machine’s controller to move the cutting tool along the programmed paths in a safe, consistent and predictable manner.
Post Processor Editing.. Vectric post processors are broken down into sections to aid clarity, try to write your post processors in a similar style to aid debugging. File Comments. A section where you can describe the post processor and record any changes to the post processor.
Hello, I have a question regarding post processors. I am planning to buy profesional cnc machine which is controled via taiwanees SYNTEC control system. I am using Fusion 360 as a main CAD software and I really dont want to switch to other softwares. My question is, do any one have experience with.
Welcome to Volume 1 of the MP Post Processor Reference Guide. The Guide contains information that will assist you in modifying post processors written in the MP language, CNC Software’s proprietary scripting language for Mill, Lathe, Wire, and Router applications. It is not intended to teach you how to write a post processor.
A Post Processor, also simply known as a “Post”, is a necessary component for anyone running a CNC machine. Before we further discuss what a post is, it is important to understand the various steps in the typical process of programming a part to cut on a CNC machine.
Post Processor Sections Vectric post processors are broken down into sections to aid clarity, try to write your post processors in a similar style to aid debugging. File Comments A section where you can describe the post processor and record any changes to the post processor.
Installing a Post Processor After installing a CADCAM program on your computer, you must tell the program that you are using a Techno CNC router so that it outputs the correct code. The way this works is through the usage of a post-processor. To install our post processor, you must download the latest version from our website; support.technocnc.com.: From this site, navigate to the post.
Post Processors and Custom Software Post Processors Post processing is the all-important last step in NC programming. A faulty post processor can give rise to a whole host of problems from out-of-spec parts, less than optimal machine performance or worst of all, a machine crash.
I play around with a CNC router doing hobby stuff, model aircraft moulds mostly, and use Rhinocam 5 and I’ve used Madcam and Rhinocam. Both are plugins that work within Rhino. It’s a great way to go as you can see, edit, select your Rhino curves in the native program which I find MUCH easier than playing with the model in other programs such as Vectric or Mastercam.
FeatureCAM Post Processor Reference Manual Page 6 Use the three buttons at the bottom of the dialog, labelled OK, Cancel and Next, to keep the changes made, exit the table without saving any changes, and advance to the next Words Info dialog respectively. The words tables contain the format (symbolic name, numeric parameters and factors) for each numeric.Every CNC machinist should know g-code. If you’re interested in CNC and machining, you should too. We recently did a survey to assess the g-code skills of our readership. You should not be suprised to learn that many are quite proficient with G-Code: We were impressed at how many readers can write g-code programs from scratch.FeatureCAM General Post Processor 7 Document CNC Document CNC creates a text file from the current CNC data file. This text file can be edited and printed with any text editor. When this command is selected, the same dialog box as the Save CNC command is displayed.
